Understanding and accepting Ida's philosophy simplifies our lives.
It guarantees that what we dwell on, we'll experience.
Another way of saying it is, "As we think, so we are."

This puts us in the driver's seat, so to speak,
but not all of us want the responsibility for how our lives are unfolding.
We have had and we will have whatever experiences we desire in this life.
That's a thrilling, awesome, sometimes fearful thought.

Often we have marveled at how easily some others go through life.
They seem to avoid the calamities that befall us.
Considering Ida's simple poem for a moment gives us another perspective.
Those who sail through life have quite probably
pictured a different set of experiences for themselves.

They are not favored by the gods; they simply use their minds to a sweeter advantage. Rest assured, we can do the same.

Today is mine to picture and enjoy.
A moment's contemplation will give me what I long for.
